Time Tells The Best Stories

Time tells the best stories. And with this issue we have some fantastic stories to share. Tenure speaks to time – your exact position right now. We hardly find the time to take stock but, if we did, we may realize we need to break free from a stale place like Shemia Burnett in A Truth And A Dare, or recalculate our current place like Ivory Miller in What I learned On My Way Back From Rock Bottom, or embark on a journey to a new fulfilling place with Louwana Ball in Is It Time To Transition?

Time also tends to be the biggest tease. While I was dating, one of the prominent issues on my mind was sex and how not to have it, not only before Mr. Charming found me, but till marriage. If you are like me, you will love our delicious interview with Worth the Wait founder, Dr. Lindsay Marsh, who tells how she and her team stay sexually pure while keeping their urban flavor. Along the lines of sexy, Arit Amana will have you laughing heartily as she recounts all her failed diet attempts before settling on running in Zero to 4mi.

As always, I want to be just as generous with my life’s stories as you are with yours. So, at the Top of the Mind this month is my personal story of accidentally discovering an irresistible lover in God, after years of no spark in Beyond the Awkward Silence. On the lighter side, the men are setting the record straight on whether you should ever bring up the ring (especially the lack thereof). Also, our very first male writer is giving us invaluable inside gist on How to Spot a Jerk way before heartbreak.

To top off an already exciting issue, we are showing off a gorgeous new look that we hope will turn your head. More than the gloss, we hope the new site design provides an enjoyable and effective online experience for you each time you visit. For example, you can now leave a comment on an article, as part of a conversation with other readers. You can email LPS articles to your friends instantly from the site. So many of you have asked about what inspired the name for the magazine; we’ve responded on our “About LPS Magazine” page.

We have two new fabulous women on the LPS Magazine team: Kershemia Burnett, our Copy & Newsletter Editor and Tiffany Allen, our Sales & Marketing Director. To help you get acquainted with the team, we’ve kicked off a new series in our HeartSpeak feature, where you get to meet one new team member a month. Arit Amana, editor of the Enduring Appeal column, is up first this month.

Lastly, don’t forget to use “Exhale!” to share feedback on the magazine as whole, give suggestions on stories you would like us to explore, and anything else you have on your mind. This is where you have my ear and can influence the development and direction of LPS magazine.

Enjoy this issue! And please share LPS Magazine with every woman you know. I can’t wait to hear back from you!

Love,

Abi
